2009-11-23 The display is DONE!! Everything up and we are in the testing phase of things, making sure it all works as planned. Friday night will be the first night of the show and you can tune in 90.5 FM on your car radio to hear the music. We really hope you enjoy the show this year. For those who will not be able to attend the show this season, I hope to have this years videos posted on Friday night. You can get to them by clicking the Videos link on the left.
2009-11-17 I got more items up this week. The Mega tree is done, the Leaping Arches are done, the roof light are up, along with the Icicles and mini trees. Still alot more to do, and hoping the weather cooperates.
2009-11-01 I got some more items up yesterday. The Mega Tree frame is completed, our FM antenna is up, and a new addition for `09, twenty more strobe lights. We fought with rain and drizzle all day, and unfortunately, I'm paying for that today and no work will be happening today. The Web Cam will be OFF today while I stay indoors to try and get to feeling better.
2009-10-16 Well, here it is, October. It is almost time for me to start setting up the display. I have been working on five new songs for this years display. What are they you ask? Well, we are going to keep it secret. So you will just have to come out and see the display to find out (or watch the videos when they get posted). So stay tuned, the Web Cam will become active again soon, so you watch the display being assembled. I will update when that happens, but look for it at the end of the month or first weekend of November. Hope you had a great Summer (we did) and looking forward to putting on this years show for everyone.

2008-11-19 Today starts the vaction time I take to get things assembled, so I started early today. I got the Mini Trees all wired up, cables set, and a bunch of relays set. This cold spell we are having is slowing things down a bit. Hopefully I will stay on schedule. I want to take a moment and thank a few people. Without them, James Family Christmas would be very difficult to make happen..... David @ Lake Norman Tree Service .... Without his help, the big projects would be extremly difficult. Tim.... my neighbor, his help makes display assembly go much faster! Kevin Dunn.... it is his voice you hear on the radio during the show. He is best known as The Demented Elf in the Christmas light world.
2008-11-09 Busy, busy this weekend! My son and I put up the roof line lights yesterday. Today we, along with my neighbors help, put up the Arches and all of the 'micro' trees (50 of them!). Will most likely take a break for a few days. Next weekend, the plan is to finish the Mega Tree and the 6' trees, as well as the Icicles on the eves.
2008-11-02 We got a head start this weekend. The Mega Tree frame is up, as well as the 6' trees. Also placement for all the mini trees and candy canes have been set. The stakes for the Arches was also set. Next week... hopefully the roof lights will go up, along with the mini trees.
2008-10-31 Well.... the time has arrived!!!! Time to start assembly of the display!!! The web cam link is now up. I will we doing some assembly tomorrow. I plan to assemble the Mega Tree frame, as well as the 6'tree frames. Also, put up the FM transmitter antenna mast. Click the 'web cam' link in the menu to see if you can catch any of the action during the day.
2008-08-24 Something really cool... a web cam will be up and running during the setup of our display this year. You will be able to click the "WebCam" link in the menu and watch the display being assembled and setup.
2008-08-23 I added RDS to our FM transmitter this weekend. You can see details of this in the "How it Works" section, as well as the Photos section.
